About

Rocketed to Earth as an infant from his dying home planet of Krypton, Jason Kobely has fought a never-ending battle to consume every frame, page and panel of pop culture goodness available.

Whether the movie is a ginormous tentpole blockbuster franchise or an unheralded, made-on-credit-cards indie, Jason will be there.

If the TV show’s an acknowledged classic or an oddly-scheduled summer burnoff, Jason will be there.

Marvel or DC mega-crossover event or black-and-white vanity production, Jason will be there.

His appreciation for the narrative form in all its varied permutations knows no bounds. In fact, Jason’s never seen a movie, TV show or comic he didn’t love.

Well, to be honest…that’s not entirely true. He doesn’t love everything.

Actually, now that you’re friends, Jason can tell you the truth — most stuff isn’t really even that good. And some of it’s downright horrible. And if you really crunch the numbers, you’ll find lots of it is downright horrible.

Like “Freddy Got Fingered.” Or movies based on old sitcoms. Or the last 5 M. Night Shyamalan films. Or “According to Jim.” Or “Spider-Man: Sins Past.” Or really just about any Marvel comic from the mid-90′s.

But those are easy targets.

“MASH,” “Law & Order” and “CSI” — over-rated…VASTLY over-rated. “The Matrix”…silliness. “Promethea”…good, but…”Fantasia”…pretty, but…

And finally, “Gone With the Wind”? Worst…classic…ever.

There.  I said it.  Huh,…I mean…Jason said it.

Of course, jeers are easy. Entertaining jeers?…now, that’s something else entirely. Love it or loathe it…the Bunker motto is: at least TRY to be entertaining about it.

Whether it’s a dissection of a new movie or an episode review or just the latest cool trailer out there on the Interwebs, hopefully you’ll find something here In the Bunker to keep you entertained.

We all spend enough time doing things we don’t want to do. Let’s at least spend the rest of that time being entertained.
